CTK Picnic

Sunday, November 24th, is Christ the King Sunday. This is the last Sunday before the beginning of Advent when the Church celebrates the kingship of Jesus. It is also our namesake Sunday, so a good day for a party!

Join us after the 11A service for a churchwide picnic at Randall Tyson Recreational Complex. This is a bring-your-own lunch picnic! We will be serving the drinks and deserts. But you're free to also bring your own.

So pack up a lunch, bring your blankets or lawn chairs, and come celebrate and enjoy the last days of fall with us.

Bible 101

Listening to and meditating on scripture together is one of the oldest and most sacred practices of our faith, and yet for many of us it is harder than ever before to know how to engage with the Bible. Beginning in October, we are going to offer a three part class we're calling Bible 101. This class will be an opportunity to discuss some of the larger interpretive questions related to how and why we read the Bible, as well as an opportunity to learn some practical tools for engaging with scripture.

If you are interested in attending this class, please register HERE.

Confirmation Sunday

Confirmation Sunday

On Sunday, September 29th, Bishop Todd Hunter will be joining us for our annual Confirmation services. Confirmation Sunday is an opportunity for those who have already been baptized, and have taken our Anglican 101 class to be formally received into the Anglican tradition. It is also an opportunity for those who have been baptized as infants to publicly confirm their faith. This means that if you or your child has recently made a profession of faith this is an opportunity to celebrate and confirm that important decision with our church family.

We will be hosting a get together for those interested in being confirmed on Saturday, September 28th at 1P. Those being confirmed, for either reason, simply stand together during the service to receive prayer from the Bishop.

If you are the parent of a child who is interested in confirming his/her faith, or you are someone who wishes to be formally received as an Anglican, please email Ashley Mathews for more information.

Men, Women, and the Gospel.

For three evenings in April, we are going to set aside time to discuss our convictions about men and women leading in the church. We are a community committed to making room for differences in perspectives and backgrounds, so our goal for these evenings is simply to provide a theological and biblical framework for those who are wrestling with these questions. We also want to give our church the opportunity to hear directly from our leadership about how we understand this issue as it relates to the gospel of Jesus.

If you call Christ the King home or if you are simply curious to hear more about this topic, mark your calendars and plan to join us in April.
