The Artist Guild
The Artist Guild at Christ the King is a community of artists who seek to reflect God’s beauty and truth through their work. Together, we explore how art can form us spiritually, enrich our worship, and invite others to encounter the presence of God through creativity.
Creativity as worship
The Artist Guild is a gathering of artists from across our community who seek to reflect God’s beauty and truth through their work. The guild is guided by Seth Primm, Pastor of Worship, whose leadership helps shape the ways creativity and worship come together at Christ the King. Seth helps artists pursue a more whole form of creation—where making becomes a practice of prayer, formation, and communion with God.
The guild was founded and continues to be led by Angela Sammer, who brings artists together to share their gifts, encourage one another, and create within the life of our church. Through a collective effort, the Artist Guild has become a space where painters, writers, musicians, and makers can collaborate and bear witness to God’s ongoing work of creation in and through His people.
Artist in Residence
Our current Artist in Residence is Sam Gray. Through this role, Sam serves the CTK community by creating and curating visual art for worship and seasonal installations, leading creative workshops, and supporting members of the Artist Guild in their own artistic and spiritual formation. His work focuses on helping the church encounter God through beauty, story, and shared creation — bringing together art and liturgy in ways that form both the artist and the worshiping community.

GATHERINGS AND WORKSHOPS
The Artist Guild meets regularly over meals, to commission and workshop current and upcoming worship and art events. We also host quarterly workshops which allow artists to share their work with the community. These workshops are occasionally limited to members of the Artists Guild, and at other times they are open to the wider community to experience.

Christ the King also offers an Artist Residency Program which supports one artist each year with a stipend, leadership opportunities and enrollment in Fuller’s Brehm Residency. From the Artists Mouths
In our recent Wrestling show, artists explored what it means to struggle, question, and trust God through the creative process.
These poems, written and read by members of our community, invite you to listen — to the tension, the honesty, and the hope that emerges when we wrestle with God.
